Acqualagna is located 53 km from Pesaro close to the nature reserve of the Furlo Gorge, a natural reserve that takes its name from the gorge located along the ancient Via Flaminia. Instituted in 2001, the State Nature Reserve Furlo Gorge is a paradise for outdoor sports enthusiasts, who can engage in hiking, climbing, mountain bike tours, walks and horse-riding, to discover the rich variety of local protected wildlife. A stone’s throw from the gorge, the town of Acqualagna is known around the world as the truffle capital, given the centuries-old tradition in the hunt, production and marketing of this precious tuber. Acqualagna is in fact where two thirds of the entire Italian truffle find and production takes place. Every year, the town welcomes thousands of visitors with the traditional Truffle Fair. In addition to this delicious tradition, the town offers interesting historical and artistic itineraries dedicated to the discovery of important buildings such as the church of Saint Lucy, the Sanctuary of Pelingo, Villa di Colombara, the Pietralata Castle and the ancient abbey of Saint Vincent at the Furlo .
